Team Baja - At the Border

We were able to shop a little bit in Ensenada after lunch, then got to the border more than three hours ago.

After lots of waiting, playing cards and Heads Up, shopping for ponchos, buying churros and other snacks...

...having fun hanging out, hopefully not causing too much trouble, of course posing for pictures...

...and a lot more waiting, we finally got to and now through the border!! Praise the Lord! Continuing on towards home! But, it'll probably be a late night...

Team Baja - Grabbing Lunch in Ensenada

After making it through the mountain passes, we are all so excited to get out of the car and grab some more amazing food before we have to leave Mexico!  Then, we are headed out in the vans again. If you see this in time, you can be praying that we get through the border quickly and easily!

Team Baja - Saying Goodbye...For Now

And, we are headed home! After a quick stop in Ensenada, we will continue to the border and on up to you all! Thank you for your prayers, it's been such a blessing down here! We're coming home to tell you lots of stories of how God has worked and blessed.

Team Baja - Last Night

Currently, the kids are playing indoor soccer in an old theater that has a really cool story behind it in regards to the founding of this mission. Make sure you ask them about it when they come home! And while they're playing, I just wanted to take the opportunity to update you on how our day has gone!

This morning, the kids were really blessed to be able to help out around the mission again after breakfast and devotions. Here are just a couple pictures we were able to get of some of the students at their jobs...

After lunch, the group split up to go out again for children's evangelism to a couple different communities, which was a huge blessing once again!

After we got back, we went to the Bible Institute in order to attend a fundraising chicken dinner of theirs and to also be able to hear testimonies from a few of their students.

There is a church here at the mission, so we were also privileged to go to a midweek service after finishing dinner.

Time has certainly flown, and the kids are surprised that it is already our last night! It's going to be hard for us all to leave, but that's because the Lord has blessed us in so many ways during our time here! We're going to go have our final team meeting and will see you all soon!

Team Baja - Child Outreach

Late yesterday afternoon, our group was able to go with two of the mission workers to a community of field workers and their families, which was about 45 minutes away. Every week, the two teachers come and play with the kids, give a Bible story to them, then provide them with some sort of food/snack. And, yesterday, the students were able to play with the kids, sit with them during the story, and help out with giving out pudding and dulces afterwards.

Then, the team loved having some amazing tacos on the town for dinner!! 😉

After another good night's rest, we are off to another day helping out around the mission on several different jobs ranging from making burritos in the kitchen to setting forms for a cover to a septic tank.

We'll check in again later on today!

Team Baja - Tour of the Mission

This morning after breakfast, we were able to take a tour of the mission with one of the staff, Carmen. She showed us around each of the different facets of the mission, while sharing stories about how God has been providing for, blessing, and growing their many different ministries over the past almost 50 years.

The kids were able to see and hear about  ministeries such as the daycare for local families, a special needs learning center, the orphanage, medical clinic, outreach center, and macadamia orchard run by the mission.

The students are continuing to love getting to know, talk and play with some of the kids on the ministry site! Here they are playing soccer with them after lunch while they wait to go out with a child outreach team to minister in some of the local neighborhoods.

Team Baja - Day One

Currently the team is sitting down for some team time/debrief time after our first day, and I'm just taking a quick second to update you all back home!

All of us were able to go into different houses to watch over some of the kids from the orphanage tonight, to give their house parents a night off. It is so fun to hear some of the kids' stories and the different ways they're already being blessed!

Here are just a couple pictures of some of us from tonight:

We Arrived!!

We got down here just in time for a bite of lunch. Then we got a quick orientation, where the kids were assigned to different spots around the campus to work for the afternoon. Here are just a couple pictures, so you guys know that we're safe and sound!

Team Baja: About to Cross the Border!

Hola friends and family!!

We have made it down to the border and are just grabbing a little breakfast before heading across. Thanks for your prayers! Despite the rain, we didn't hit too much traffic. The kids slept pretty good (but didn't want me to post any pictures of that part 😉). And, now that they're awake, they're having fun hanging out as a team!

We'll get back to you once we are down at Vicente Guerrero!
