Sorry for the Delay!

Sorry for the delay in updating you all!  The WiFi has been totally out the past two days at the base.  The staff has been working to get the network back up and going, and we're all hoping that it will be up by tomorrow afternoon.  But, I wanted to let you all know that we are alive and doing very well!  So, Dan and Twyla Grozenski offered to drive me over to their house in order to update you all quickly!

Yesterday morning, the students were able to begin a study in James for their quiet time to start off each day, focusing on Christ and our relationship with Him before going out to work and serve in our sites.  Then, some of the SI staff gave the team an orientation for the base, the sites, the culture, etc.  After a quick lunch on base, the students were able to join up with their site leaders for the first time and get half a day in with their sites.

After a fun time of learning more about the culture here in the DR last night, the students were ready to have their first full day in their sites today!  Over the next two weeks, as we get the WiFi back up and going, we will be able to get you more pictures and also share with you "Site Spotlights" where you will get a much more in-depth look at what the kids are doing and hear from them what God is doing in and through them and their sites.

The students are doing well, excited to be really getting into their sites, and staying healthy thus far!  Tonight we get to have some team time and just hang out, talking through how the first few days have been for each of the kids.  And, it will be exciting to see how God is already moving and working!  Keep praying for us, and we will talk to you all soon!
